face behind the art

(yell-ehh-nuh kostich ... like yell-in-a-cave but without the cave )

I’ve loved exploring art my whole life. trying new mediums, smushing mediums together, adding my own flair to all sorts of crafts. i’ve been creating and gifting my pieces to loved ones for a long time, but it took a huge leap of faith and courage to finally put my art out into the world for others to view and buy! it feels very vulnerable to just put my heart and soul's creations out there for the universe to see and judge.

i jokingly say that my niche is not having a niche- currently i do a lot of art with resin, wood, pyrography, floral preservation, calligraphy/ink, digital art turned into stickers, logos, etc….block printing, embroidery/sewing, fluid art (watercolors, acrylics and acrylic pouring)…. you name it, and if i haven’t tried it then i just might!

i enjoy combining mediums and creating art that is functional and/or meaningful -badge reels, magnets, trinket dishes, coasters, and larger pieces with wood and resin like small side or coffee tables, upcycling all the things (i love playing the "i can art that" game at second hand/thrift/home goods stores). i make a lot of memory art, to represent loved ones that you've lost or capture and preserve a memory/moment in time. often this includes dried flowers, shells you've collected, or hand/footprints or ashes. my digital art endeavors range from custom stickers to logos or colorful cards, based on animals (my dogs are all stickers!), people or really anything!

nothing feels better than creating art with a story, a purpose, a meaning. taking your idea and turning it into a tangible "thing" for you is my favorite! bring me your seashells, flowers, baby prints, handwriting, favorite side table, picture or silhouette of your dog/child/house and let your ideas become something magical with my help :) have something specific in mind but aren't sure I've done something like it before? just ask! i love experimenting and trying new things.

as a NICU nurse, I make memories out of babies' prints into crafts for their families to have sweet memories of them as they grow from tiny preemies into chunky big babies. I also create keepsakes for families going through the hardest thing- loss of their beloved baby. whether you are looking to capture a moment in your living child's life or display the last physical piece of your child that you have with you, i can take their foot/handprint and create a piece of art unique to you and your person. I can even make them into stickers! I can also preserve flowers, or create art with a loved one's handwriting or ashes.

line art

line art is really fun because it roams somewhere between abstract and realistic, simple and intricate. it can cross mediums - drawn with pen or calligraphy ink on paper, burned on wood, or even painted onto a resin background

bring me an image, idea or theme and let me line-ify it!

one unbroken line….

resin, acrylics, a mix, oh my…!

resin is an incredibly diverse medium. I can use it as a shiny top coat finish for a piece of wood-burned art or acrylic pour, pour it on top of a base like wood, ceramic, or tile to create a coaster/ "upcycle" something functional like a trinket dish, table, lazy susan, or handle of a wooden spoon, or pour it into a mold to create fully resin pieces to be tables, badge reels, magnets, trinket dishes, coasters, blocks of dried flowers.....the world is pretty much resin's oyster! My style is very diverse when it comes to fluid mediums, from ocean themed art, to geode art, to preserved flowers, to wild abstracts. fluid art

pyrography

(wood burning)

probably one of my favorite mediums to work with is wood! it is such a diverse canvas, and can be embellished so beautifully. the range of what wood burned art can be is so wide - from simple wooden rounds as baby month milestones to intricate scenes brought to life with watercolor, acrylic paint, or colored pencil, to eclectic resin+wood tables with a burning on the wood pieces.

block printing

original art hand drawn, carved, inked and printed onto a variety of options: greeting cards, wall art, or onto clothes, tote bags or other fabrics. My most recent experimentation into a new medium! I’ve mostly started out with designs for my Mighty Max collection but am slowly expanding my carvings and printings, even making some little stamps.

hand carved, hand printed

digital art

want stickers? need a logo? drawing on a tablet results in some pretty cool products :) completely hand drawn/designed stickers printed and cut out onto sheets, into kiss-cut individual stickers, or used to embellish a bigger piece of art (resin, wood….magnet, ornament, wall art!)

hand crafted cards

who doesn’t love an ink and watercolor flower or a cutesy punny hand drawn card?

calligraphy

calligraphy in ink, watercolor or burned on wood. we can create a keepsake, a display/menu/announcement for your wedding…or whatever else you have in mind!
